Turning a Dangerous Arroyo Into a Flood Irrigation Resource in the Deserts of Far-West Texas
Here is how we harvested water out of Circle Ranch’s worst gully, and used it to re-wet 5-miles of desert meadows.

Great video! I am a new subscriber and very interested in the work you are doing at Circle Ranch.
Thanks Roy. These practices go by various broad names including ‘desert permaculture’ and ‘holistic management’. Our objective is always to build soil fertility by improving rainfall retention, by using animal impact supplemented where appropriate by water harvesting and subbsoil contour plowing.
Terrific video on water harvesting. Thanks. Will send link to other friends
Many thanks. I have been on many desert ranches and never seen one that did not have many opportunities for water harvesting from substandard roads, and gullies created by human impact.
Is your staff/equipment available for any contract work like this on other desert ranches in the area?
My advice is to master the concepts for yourself: then you can supervise those whom you hire. We don’t this as a business but I would be happy to advise and direct you where to go. Depending on where you are, I can recommend some people who understand this. 210-240-3800
